The Municipality of Vari Voula Vouliagmeni, in collaboration with the Organization of Sports, Culture and Children's Education of the Municipality of Vari Voula Vouliagmeni (OAPPA) and the four Nautical Clubs of the city, Nautical Athletic Club of Vari Varkiza, Nautical Athletic Club of Voula, Nautical Club of Vouliagmeni and Nautical Club of residents of Vouliagmeni, organized the 1st International Sailing Race of the Border Islands – "Kastellorizo Cup 2015".

The aim of the event was to highlight and promote the island of Megisti, the easternmost tip of Greece and to give it publicity with a positive sign.

The race took place from Monday, September 7 to Wednesday, September 9, 2015, in Kastelorizo.

The athletes, coaches and organizers as well as the guests, went to the island with the cruise ship "Aegean Paradise".
